The agreement covers the construction of a hotel and conference center within the project, strategically located next to the Berchem-Sainte-Agathe railway station.

The new district will also include housing, facilities, retail outlets and new public spaces.

" This partnership with Van der Valk will create synergies of use between the hotel and the various functions planned within the project. All the ingredients are in place for this new district to be dynamic, mixed-use and sustainable, and to become a mobility hub thanks to the Berchem Sainte-Agathe train station on the edge of the site.

Driven by a dynamic of urban innovation and ambitious thinking on new lifestyles, the project will be developed in close collaboration with the Commune of Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, illustrating their desire to create new quality projects.

" I ' m delighted with this partnership and with this concrete project to establish a quality hotel in Berchem-Sainte-Agathe with a conference center, which I've been hoping and praying for, and which will bring real added value to the district. It's the prospect of the creation of almost 140 jobs, significant economic spin-offs and a concrete contribution to the redevelopment of the station area, which will be completely transformed over the next 5 to 10 years! "

Christian Lamouline, Mayor of Berchem-Sainte-Agathe

Alongside the many positive impact measures, the district will innovate by offering new housing typologies as well as affordable housing, meeting the needs of an active, mixed and intergenerational population. The creation of numerous green spaces and new public areas will enhance the quality of life for residents and local residents alike.

The project proposes an integrated design approach, including the enhancement of architectural heritage and the strictest principles of sustainable development, with buildings designed to exacting ecological standards, featuring the use of sustainable and reusable materials and optimized energy and water management.

The project is located on land currently occupied by Manufast and the former Brico headquarters, behind Avenue Charles-Quint.

It benefits from excellent accessibility, and the creation of green spaces, public areas and measures to restore biodiversity will be a priority.

A planning application will be submitted before the end of 2024.

"This partnership with Van der Valk is part of our commitment to continue investing in quality residential projects in Belgium. We are convinced that the current market can offer interesting opportunities in residential development.

All L.I.Ve teams are currently working on growing our portfolio of residential projects, and are therefore keen to hear about any land acquisitions or existing buildings to be redeveloped".
